flat flat flats!

Due to my neck/back injury.. wearing heels at the moment, really isn’t the best idea for me. Even though I love being in my heels, and would normally where them over anything else…  my back doesn’t like them too much! So I have been searching the world wide web, for some gorgeous flat shoes to add to my collection…  as I really don’t have that many, and I am beginning to get a bit tired or wearing my converse or black ballet pumps.

I can’t choose which are my favourite.. but I am leaning towards no.4 and no5 :) … ohh but I LOVE no.7 too! So tough to choose. Which are your favourite? And do you know of any other great flats.. if so, please send me links! I’m open to options and choices in order to find the right pair.

Happy Friday.. and I hope you have all have a fantastic weekend!

craving pink

I`ve had one of those weeks where nothing in my wardrobe appeals to me, and I am constantly thinking “if only I had that or that..”. AND I seem to be craving pink items more than normal this week. It`s been pretty grey in Vancouver all week (the sun has finally come out right now tho!) and so I have kind of been living in my jeans, and I am getting extremely bored with them! Everytime I stare at my wardrobe, I think “if only I had a pair of pink trousers, I could wear it with this or that or that” or “if I had a pink blazer or a pink pair of shoes, this outfit would transform into something completely different”.
I am on a little of bit a shopping diet, has I have mentioned before.. so unfortunately I am just going to have to wait and make do with what I have… I need to get inspired and start mixing and matching with what I have! :) Hopefully you`ll get a few outfit posts from me soon.

I also love the “Live What You Love” print by Jen from Made By Girl. It gorgeous, another thing to add to my list for my dream studio! She has some gorgeous prints, poster and paintings – check her blog and shop out for more!

I am away for the next few days.. in and out of Vancouver. I am actually on the ferry to Victoria as I type this, and next week we are off on a fishing trip for a couple days… plus next weekend we are in Toronto! Busy week. So since I am going to be a bit quiet, I have a couple of guest posts lined up to keep you occupied while I am away…

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

beautiful beach, fabulous food & charming company

My mother’s day Sunday was spent at this beautiful inn called, Sooke Harbour House in Victoria, BC. The view was absolutely beautiful (I apologise for the blurry image of the view, only managed to take a photo if it on my phone), the food was scrumptious – and best of all it was shared with lovely company!

I seem to fall in love with Brisith Columbia more and more everday…

sequined superman

A few years ago, I was shopping with a friend of mine who fell in love with a t-shirt with a sequined superman logo on it. However, being students at the time meant the t-shirt didnt really fit into his financial budget and he was very upset he couldn’t buyt it. I convinced him I could make a t-shirt just like it for him – he didn’t believe me and so challenged me to do so! So I did – :) and I ended up making a few different sequined tshirts for a bunch of friends who wanted one! This one I ended up keeping for myself – there’s just something about it that I love and I couldn’t let it go.

Wear Green for St Patrick’s Day!

It’s St Patrick’s Day tomorrow (17th March) and traditionally everyone wears green on this day! So firstly I started to wonder why green? I know the shamrock/clover is green and I know there is green on the Irish flag, but what’s the real history behind it? So I looked up our friendly Wikipedia, and here’s what I found:

Originally, the colour associated with Saint Patrick was blue. Over the years the colour green and its association with Saint Patrick’s day grew. Green ribbons and shamrocks were worn in celebration of St Patrick’s Day as early as the 17th century. He is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish, and the wearing and display of shamrocks and shamrock-inspired designs have become a ubiquitous feature of the day. In the 1798 rebellion, in hopes of making a political statement, Irish soldiers wore full green uniforms on 17 March in hopes of catching public attention. The phrase “the wearing of the green“, meaning to wear a shamrock on one’s clothing.

So that answer’s that question!

I lived in the UK for about 10 years, and not once did I ever celebrate St Patrick’s Day, nor did I ever wear green – unless it was a mere coincidence. However, being in BC now it seems that St Patrick’s Day is the rave and for some reason I have heard more people talking about it this year, then ever before. So going with it, I am going to wear green this year and possibly go out for a few pints too! :)

In honour of St Patrick’s Day I picked a few of my favourite green items out there at the moment to share with you and help you find something green to wear. Whether you are going down to the pub or painting the town GREEN with the girls – I hope you find your green! :)
